Rule number one with email marketing is "Do Not Spam".

Leave that to the Vendors of Fake Watches and Viagara

It is so easy to undermine your brand. Remember you are building trust,which means that at the very least you should demonstrated that you have thought about which message you are sending to whom.

There are really many things to consider when you start Email Marketing, and we will not go into them here. However we would say that if you know all about the following issues, or you dont care, then go ahead, but if you care about your brand speak to someone who can answer the following questions:-

• Getting through spam filters
  
• Hard bounce vs soft bounce
  
• The Law re Unsubscribes
  
• The Data Protection Act and Registrar
  
• How are the Laws different in Europe
  
• Getting Black Listed
  
• Driving Traffic into web sites
  
• Google Stats
  
• etc
